FlatShifter

Hi Graham

This is my first drive with Flatshifter expert, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0kic2NnaQw

Just did my first full track day with a functional Flatshifter installed. It worked absolutely flawlessly! Up shifts under full throttle felt like a really positive automatic with no lift required at all. The downshifts were the real surprise as they were effortless and smooth. The shifts are so quick that there is little worry about unsettling the car, even in turns. All in all, I was really impressed. It was fun to use, easy to install, and not all that expensive compared to other modifications.

Greetings Graham,

A friend of mine recommended a competitors of yours system to me a ********* system but i needed a set of new slicks or a quickshifter, i could not afford both, i purchased your expert system at a third of the price of my friends suggestion bought a new set of slicks & still money over, and we both agree that the flatshifter system is a lot better than the ********* system he uses as well !!! awesome bit of kit..

Their website is www.flatshifter.com. When I found them, I emailed the British site for more information. But, when I was ready to purchase, I was directed to Richard at the U.S.A. site. He has been very helpful and responsive. Chris has also been in touch with them and installed a complete (including paddles) system in at least one D962R. As I said in my 1st post, there's a lot of bang for the buck with this easy installation.

I'd also like to add and stress this, after using my Flatshifter for 1 1/2 seasons, I have no plans to switching to any of the ~$5k systems. IMHO, there's much better places to spend the money, alignment equipment for one and especially testing.

Dear Sir,
If you have not heard of us, we build all of the engines for Radical Motorsport. In addition to this we carry out engine rebuilds and tuning on engines for numerous other uses. We have two rolling road dynos, one being a car application. We have had several vehicles in using various quick shifter type gear change units, the best one being your own unit.

I would like to purchase one for us to fit, recommend to customers and then promote on our website etc. We are continually being asked to recommend these systems and have always been reluctant to do so for obvious reasons. If you could let me have any relevant details, i.e price, terms etc it would most appreciated.

Hi Graham & John,

The installation of the Flatshifter Pro system to my 2009 MNR Vortx (R1) is now completed and is working great! I am very pleased with the quality of the product and the help and support that you guys gave me during the installation process!. The system has taken the car to the next level and is now a lot more fun to drive!

Thanks and best regards,

Jan
Hello Graham,

Just a quick line to let you know how the push button shifter worked, 'What can I say' it was without doubt the easiest way I have changed gear, once I got my head around the fact that i did not need to use the gear shift with my foot, it was quick both up the box and down and without the need to use the clutch, in fact the only time i used the clutch was on the start line. Formula 1 sidecars are not the most comfortable of things to sit in but with the added help of the push buttons to shift gears i had no problems i could just let my legs relax, but the best bit of all my lap times were faster.

Thanks for your help Graham.

Hi Graham,
Picked up the flatshifter at the post office at 6 pm today, Monday. After dinner and putting the kids to bed I went out to the garage and started the installation at 8.30 pm. At midnight I came into the house after a 20 km test-drive with the flatshifter!! Very easy install and impressive results with the system right out of the box, no adjustments. Very pleased indeed.

The only negative comment is that the supplied adaptor for the vacuum feed from the intake had a M 5 thread and the R 1 engine has M 6 threads, but that didn't matter since I had correct fitment lying in the garage.

Overall very pleased and now its time to go to bed with a smile on my face.

Good day Graham,

Just to say a big well done.

We tested the Flatshifter on a circuit yesterday and everybody that was there stood there with their mouths open. Josh was delighted with it. He did some 15 laps, really putting it through it's paces and the gear changes, both up and down were absolutely faultless, even on the standard settings you suggested.

He now needs to do more mileage simply to get used to the two pedal arrangement and left foot braking.

I've got a feeling we can sell a few, both here and in Italy. We leave for a hill climb in Italy in just over a week's time so we are trying to get as much practice in as possible before that, in fact we will be at the circuit again tomorrow evening for a couple of hours, where he'll be just bashing round to get used to it. I've put a gash set of tyres on the car so he can burn them up to his heart's content.

Thanks again for all your help.

Regards

Joe.
